· As a designer you must take into account the environmental    impact of your designs.

· Ask your self these questions;

 

 ?  Is the material environmentally friendly? (will it biodegrade/ rot)  ?

?  How will the packaging/ product be disposed of at the end of its life? ?

  ? Will it be recycled eg a newspaper ?

---

 

? Will it be reused eg a metal biscuit tin ?

---

 

  ? Will it be reused eg a glass milk bottle ?

  ?  Is the product over packaged (eg an individual cake bar in its own polythene wrapper, in an inner tray, inside an outer polythene wrapper) ?
